The Northumberland team of Sam, Paul Freeman, Sam Player and Thomas Beckwith took on the North of Scotland and the West of Scotland. In two tough matches the county lost both, despite Sam winning one rubber against Sam Golding (West Scotland).
Sunday 31st May
Northumberland played the East of Scotland in the 5th/6th place playoff. Sam P lost the 1st rubber, before Paul took the 2nd making it one all. Sam K then took the 3rd for a 2-1 lead. A tough doubles loss for Paul and Thomas meant a doubles shootout to 10 points. Coach Adam selected the Sam and Sam double act and this proved inspired with them winning 10-8 to take the match for Northumberland.
Well done boys and thank you to Adam for taking them over to Chatsworth, Carlisle for the match.
Sam finished with 3 points from his 5 rubbers,( Link ) and this made him top Northumberland player.
